GNEI works to advance it — through clear analysis, sound policy, and engagement with the people building these technologies.
The Global New Energy Institute works to advance abundant, reliable energy. We bring together research and policy insight on next-generation energy technologies — from advanced nuclear to renewables and other clean-power sources.
Our role is to provide clear, data-driven analysis and to connect scientists, industry, and government. The goal is simple: energy systems that are both affordable and sustainable.
We focus on the technologies and policies most likely to expand access to dependable energy: advanced nuclear — small modular reactors, microreactors, and next-generation designs — alongside renewables, storage, and other clean-power sources.
We are technology-agnostic. Our interest is in what works, what scales, and what can be deployed responsibly to meet the demands of a growing, electrifying world.
We combine research with direct engagement: publishing analysis for policymakers and the public, convening people around shared problems, and communicating clearly.
Independence from industry capture and from political agendas. Analysis grounded in primary data, not advocacy talking points. A commitment to making the case for energy abundance on its merits — by informing decisions, not by pressing them.
The decisions made over the next decade — which technologies to develop and deploy, and on what terms — will shape the energy system for a long time. Getting them right takes careful analysis and honest debate.
That is the work GNEI exists to do.
